We all love a good sushi? However, finding the right sushi can be a cumbersome experience, leaving you with a bad after taste. Go no further my dear friends- Sushi Samba has to be the 2nd best sushi we’ve ever had. Number one is and will always be Nobu, Park Lane. I will eventually get to writing about Nobu too, so stay tuned as that will be an epic.
Getting a reservation here is not easy, especially as we visited during the first opening week. The restaurant is located between 38th and 39th floor of the Heron Tower in Bishopsgate, a business district of London. (Equivalent to Wall St). The glass capsule lift shoots you up onto the top floor, before you had a chance to take any snaps of the amazing view of London. (Just get your camera’s ready before going into the lift).
We ordered few cocktails to begin with at the bar before getting seated. This was later followed by one of the best sushi in town. The taste and the freshness of each ingredient on the slate plate was too tempting to resist. If you ever visit here, you must try the wagyu mini burgers, am not big on red meat but these little gems were delightful! They are fairly small to say the least, about one bite size, but the taste is just phenomenal. They do say, all good things come in small packages- this is once certain example!
If you have a sweet tooth like mine, then you are in for a treat. The deserts here are just as good as the sushi. Its not very often that you get an amazing main with matching desert, but Sushi Samba does both. As someone who has deserts where ever I go, I know a good treat when I see and taste one. I was left speechless, yes it was that damn good. Their signature ‘Love from Rio’ desert, is out of this world. I love the fact that there was ice-cream, nuts and chocolate. I mean, what else could a girl ask for..
Our table was just by the window, meaning we had a fair good view out looking onto the city on this clear evening. As the evening drew to an end, we were all stunned upon what we had just discovered and it was ever more epic as we watched the sunset – a memorable evening, with great food and great company (my husband off course) – this right here ladies and gentleman is the secret to happiness!
