We had our wedding in Central London in July 2016 and as guests flocked in from far and wide, a cousin from the USA had booked, The Ledbury based in the heart of London’s most exclusive neighbourhoods, Notting Hill Gate.
We were all pretty excited, so off we went the restaurant on the night of our booking, as our car pulled up to the restaurant my imminent thoughts were this is going to be too fancy, thankfully we were dressed for the occasion. So, didn’t look out of place, as men were dressed in suits and women with business attires or evening wear.
Then the magic began, course after course, the food was extremely fascinating, tasteful, pleasant and surprising. Each course was accompanied by great presentations and taste, not forgetting the smell. The chef, clearly knows how to keep his guests entertained for the full four hours (set menu) that we were there.
I think retrospectively looking back at this visit, we would have ranked this place higher if we hadn’t visited the Clove Club, which I just think stood out due to having the diner more engaged with the experience.
The Ledbury is a great place, where we shall return to with business associates or parents/ grandparents. As the atmosphere and the experience truly caters for all.
Does this place deserve to be ranked at number 14th of the Top 50 restaurants in the world? Definitely, a high yes…
